With the yuletide season just around the corner, most people are already doing like Santa: they’re making a list, checking it twice, trying to find out who’s been naughty, who’s been nice. Well, just like any other person, the country’s Queen of Bossa, Sitti, have been busy preparing a special gift herself. “I’d long planned for this—to give something special to the fans— as grateful as I am for all the support that they had given me”, the singer says.
From Warner Music Philippines comes the perfect gift for the season, Sitti’s latest CD, “Ngayong Pasko”. Featuring a healthy mix of the traditional and the new—Ngayong Pasko includes popular carols such as All I Want for Christmas, Santa Baby, Winter Wonderland, Someday At Christmas, Have yourself A Merry Little Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Grown Up Christmas List, The Christmas Song, Jingle Bell Rock, and Boogie Woogie Santa Claus.
Hear Sitti as you have never heard her before, singing joyful Christmas melodies we all love and more. “I grew up listening to and singing these tunes. It’s an honor and a privilege to lend my own interpretation to these songs,” Sitti points out.
As a special bonus Sitti and Christian Bautista got together to sing a duet for one track, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” She also did a fresh new take on the classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” together with the Las Pinas Boys Choir.
“Collaborating with others is always a joy for me”, the singer says. “Christian was a natural choice for that [Baby, It’s cold outside]. As for working with the Las Pinas Boys Choir, it came as naturally too; I am from Las Pinas and I’d always dreamt of working with them.”
