Sitti will Perform for a Charity Concert on December 10

By Elyas Isabelo Salanga

“For me, being young means being energetic, idealistic, and ready for anything,” says Sitti Navarro, who at 23 years old has been billed the Philippines’ Queen of Bossa Nova. “Don’t limit yourself, now is really the best time to make a difference.”

Back from her well-received U.S. tour, Sitti has certainly wasted no time on idle pursuits. A sought-after singer, host, and actress, she has released five albums including the double platinum Café Bossa, the platinum My Bossa Nova, and the gold certified Sitti Live!

Her latest release, Ngayong Pasko, is in stores now and achieved gold status within the same month of its October 2008 release.

“Ang bait ni Lord talaga,” says Sitti with a smile. “Kaya din I just try focus my energies on being good at what I do.”

This focus has served her well in her younger years, allowing her to finish her undergraduate degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman as a dean’s medalist. She also graduated as the valedictorian of her high school batch from St. Francis of Assisi School winning the Gloria Macapagal Leadership Award, Gerry A. Roxas Leadership Award, and the Jose P. Laurel Academic Excellence Award. Surprisingly, she still found the time for organizations such as the school paper in high school and AIESEC in college.

“Yup, I’m always so busy,” laughs Sitti, “But it’s good, too, because it keeps me out of trouble.”

On December 10, Sitti will join fellow artists Jericho Rosales, Kitchie Nadal, Southwind, and Lovecore at the No Limits! Raffle and Benefit Concert at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

Organized by Brandspeakasia, the proceeds of the raffle will go to the building expansion program of Alabang New Life Christian Center, a non-profit institution that has ministered to the city of Muntinlupa for 17 years.

Free admission. For inquiries, please contact Ms. Aggie Manangu at 750-65-10 to 11 or send an email to inquire@brandspeakasia.com.
